Again, the basic old and young lambic are matured in oak casks. But here we add to one year-old lambic about 400 grams of real cherries per litre. This creates a second fermentation in the casks. Oude Kriek Boon then undergoes a further fermentation in the bottle and has an alcohol volume of 6.5%. After several months, the flavour has matured to the desired taste.
Oude Kriek Boon is a test of your patience. It should lie about 2 years in the bottle. At first, it tastes of fruit, especially sour cherries. Oude Kriek Boon eventually evolves into a deep taste reminiscent of Port or Madeira wine. This is kriek at its best.

On tap. Dark ruby colour, no head. Quite like condensed cherry juice with carbonated water. A bit of sauerkraut. Medium sour, light sweetness. Lively carbonation, light body. I expected something more wild, but still it's good.

A deep dark burgundy red Kriek with a thin pink head. In aroma, sweet cherry, light Brett, light lactic notes, light cork character, light vinous character, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet tart cherry malt with light Brett, light Epsom salts, smooth acidity and cork, very nice. On tap at L'autre oeil.

Nice deep red color with a fine frothy pink head. Dotted lacing. Nice intensity in the aroma. Lovely cherry touch. A bit to high carbonation level. Fizzy mouth feeling. Destroyed this experience a bit. Would have been a damned good one if the carbonation level was ok. Nice flavor with a lot of cherries (surprise). Also some wood and almonds. Decent complexity. Balanced tartness. Damned those torpedoes (co2).

375ml bottle. Cloudy crimson colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, pink-ish head. Earthy, minimally woody, fruity morello aroma. Taste is mildly tart, fruity, notes of morello with an earthy, spicy and woody touch.

Bottle. Harvest 2014. Color: Dark red, frothy pink head. Aroma: Cherries, bit stale. Taste: Rather sweet dark cherries, notes of wood, lightly sour notes, pretty dry mouthfeel. Light to moderate hopbitterness. Medium body, below average carbonation. Ok, but could use some more fruityness and complexity in my opinion

Vom Fass beim Sour Fest im Stone Brewing Berlin 2018-06 getrunken. Ein sehr ausgewogenes Kriek wo die Säure und Fruchtaromen sehr gut balanciert sind. Süffig und der volle Körper macht Spaß!

Draught at 1420, Copenhagen.
Deep red body, with a small, creamy, lacing, pinkish head.
Amazing aroma of moderate sweet cherries, sweet dark berries, almost like fruit gum, very smooth wooden notes, slight leather.
Tastes of dry cherries, ripe fruits, while not too sweet, wood.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes dry, wooden, very fruity, subzly sweet, with cherries, slight berries, slight leather.

Delicious. One of the most distinct cherry notes I've had in a Kriek so far, especially in the lovely nose. Perfectly balanced, with a great dryness to moderate the sweetness. Lovely, fresh stuff, with a lot of depth.
