In my opinion, it is a reference if what a brown ale should have to be: malty, toffee, some hop but the taste sink in the mouth like choc... 07.05.2017, drinking it at Prélaz, Lausanne, buying it in one closed beer shop, rue de Charonne, Paris.

Pours brown, some sugaryaroma and maltiness. Flavor is a bit of chocs and nuts.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a large brown tinted head the disappeared quickly. Burnt toast, coffee aroma. Taste was coffee, chocolate, malty with a nice hint of hops.

very dark amber color. quick dissipating head. Wow, this is very hoppy with a slight caramel to it. The malt comes through in the flavour with a big hop jolt in the finish, a very solid brown ale.

Old rating from 2017 - 355ml bottle brought back from NYC. Pours brown with a beige head. Aromas & tastes of coffee, chocolate, blackcurrant, oats, smoke & roasted malt. Medium body. Rich mouthfeel with a crisp dry finish

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is toasted and mildly roasted brown malt with caramel, hints of (dried) fruit, dark bread, hint of chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and pretty bitter for the style. Body is medium. Solid Brown.

Отличный Американский коричневый Эль. Имеет не очень сильный аромат и слабую пену. Приятный вкус жженой карамели и черного хлеба. И буквально божественное сбалансированное послевкусие. Действительно приятное впечатление. Советую!

Pour is more of a clean tan than brown with a large white head. Aroma is a little brown sugar and molasses. Flavor is a little toasted malt some minor bitter hop but over all a bit thin. Kind of a brown ale light if there is such a thing.
