Bottle thanks to Seth. Pours a dark cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is rye, dark fruit, wood, roast. Medium mouth, very sweet, yeast, sugar, slight infection?

Tasting at Ferris’
Black color, small head. Huge aroma of phenol, then marzipan, grappa, alcohol, then chocolate, wood, some wine sourness, tobacco; weird and very interesting. Good body strength (less than other beers at this ABV), highly carbonated, good caramel and malt flavor, moderately sweet, a lot of leather,a hint of liquorice.
Messy, and it’s one case in which the mess touches art. Great beer.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Nose brings out rye barrels, some light vinous notes, caramel, and sour dark fruits. Flavour is quite complex, with red wine barrels, dark fruits, light tartness, and a touch of caramel. On one hand, it seems like a random mess, but it's surprisingly cohesive. The red wine is the primary note, and it meshes well with everything else. Very enjoyable stuff.
