Bottled from Mitra Bunnik, BB 04 2015, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Slight hazy redbrown color, short forthy light brown head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, some red fruit, raisin, dark bread, toffee. Medium sweet in taste, slight bitterness, mostly in the finish. Not as much yeast character as is usual, but much more caramel and toffee from the malt. Also quite full bodied and not as dry. I expect not a whole lot of sugar and a not very high attenuating yeast strain. A bit on the sweet side, but I like the toffee and dark bread.

Decent dubbel beer. Malt taste is dominant, with some mild bitterness and a slight metallic taste.

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours hazy brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt, over ripe fruit, raisins and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Some chocolate coming out in a nice way in the palate. Medi bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty nice!

Muddy red brown colour, small tan head, dissipates (too) quickly. Sweet malty nose, aroma roasted, contains caramel, brown sugar, bit chocolate, earthy tones, clove. Medium sweetbitter roasted taste, earthy and spicy tones. Medium body, creamy texture, finish as in taste maybe a bit more bitter. Not a typical dubbel, literally with a down to earth character.

Aroma is moutig, caramel, donkere fruit.

30 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Hazy brown with a thin beige head. Caramel aroma with some hops. Faint molassess also noticable with its bittersweet tones. Hopbitter aftertaste. Quite a nice dubbel.

Bottle. Poured a murky dark brown with a thin light tan head. The aroma is yeast, big malt. The flavour is medium bitter light sweet with a smooth creamy malt light yeast palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Somewhat chewy and somewhat drinkable. I get the feeling that this beer is healthy which probably isn’t true, but it’s a nice feeling all the same and not something I often experience while propping up a bar!
