Bottle from Mondo Vino 2-14-17

Bottle @ home. Super excited to try this. This is a very interesting, boutique beer. It’s spontaneously fermented in a coolship and then aged on oak chardonnay barrels. You can definitely get some of the funk and wild notes in the aroma that exhibits notes of cheese and lots of lemons. While the carbonation is far too low for the style, it does have a refreshing, twangy lemon flavor with hints of oak, parmesan, and vanilla. Flavor lasts in your mouth plenty. Fun, creative beer but it could use a little more carbonation and a lower price.

Draft at Sour’d - pours yellow white head. Nose/taste of oak, sour lemon, acetone, citrus - medium body.

Bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sour earthy fruit with light grain and a decent amount of funk underlying. Flavor has a pretty acidic sour fruit note with some earthy grain and a musty/oaky funk.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with large frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is funk, lemon zest, wood. Thin mouth, nice funk, oak, brett, lemon, very good.

On tap at Fredfest. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium white head. A big funky lemon brett nose. Vinous, white wine, oak, big sweaty socks funk. Quite tart, lemons. Smooth and a good brew.
