750 ml bottle, 2009. Bright and clear dark caramel color, huge tan head (almost a gusher). Aroma of sweet caramel candy covered with milk chocolate, light spice. Taste is dark roasted coffee grounds, nutmeg, cinnamon. Decent.

Bottle. It pours a brown to copper body, unclear, and topped by a small, dense, beige head. Some spices in the aroma which is mostly fruity and sweetish, with dried fruits and cellar in the back. The flavor is sweet with a touch of coffee grit, dried fruits, caramel and a pleasant bitterness kicks in after a few seconds. Some bitterness in the end too. Full body, nicely carbonated. Well, it’s not my choice of Christmas beer, but it’s a nice beer anyway. 110107

330 ml bottle. Dim amber body with a fine, dense tan head. Aroma feels like sweet caramel, some fruit and a bit spicy. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, ripe fruit and spices. This is simply a quite regular Christmas beer, but with a fine harmony and almost perfectly balanced. Very enjoyable.

Bottled (from Estate Wine). Very murky deep brown colour with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, dark dry fruits, some yeast as well as mild notes of spices. Flavour is quite similar with a quite strong wooden and bready tone as well. Also a bit alcohol.

(Bottle at Plan B) Poured dark reddish brown and almost clear. Head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma was malty and bit spicy. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, roastedness, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter.

Pour is a dark murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a heavy malt with some spice and dark fruit. Flavor is fruity with some candi sugar and a decent chocolate malt at the end that I was not expecting. A decent beer but I’m glad i found this in the discount bin.

Bottle, 6.5%. The aroma starts off with a little yeast, but there is also a good fruity note, sweetish dried fruits, slightly spicy. Clear dark chestnut brown colour. Small stable light brown head. The flavour starts off sweet and roasted. Has a balanced sweetness and finishes with a good bitterness and a bit of warming alcohol.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.Clear medium to dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy yeasty, spicy, licorice - anis seed, wood, tobacco notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and malt bitter with a long long duration, soapy, peppery. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100318]
