First brewed in Tacuba, Mexico in 1925, Modelo Negra, formerly Negra Modelo, is a medium-bodied lager with slow-roasted caramel malts brewed for a rich, smooth taste. Brewed longer to enhance its flavors, Modelo Negra redefines "Dark Beer" because it is exceptionally drinkable and remarkably smooth. This Munich Dunkel-style Lager is brewed with galena and super galena hops as well as caramel malt, black malt and two and six row malt barley. These ingredients are meticulously brewed together to give Modelo Negra that bright, rich, amber hue and that iconic, medium-bodied flavor.

12oz bottle, in a plastic cup. Clear, reddish brown with a miniscule off white head. Sweet, malty aroma, taste is similar. Thin. Ok

355 ml can served in mug. Malt, corn aroma. Bitter malty taste, but flat. Watery. Low carbonated. Light body, thin texture. In three words: malt, flat, thin.

Once my favorite Mexican beer, I still drink Negra occasionally. Poured from a squatty 12 oz. bottle it gives a dark amber along with a thin light tan foam. It has a smell of grain. It tastes of a metallic maltiness, biscuit and a very slight caramel sweetness at the end. It benefits greatly from an added slice of lime. Add it, drink it, be happy.

Helder bruin bier zonder schuim. Smaak stelt weinig voor, licht rook en karamel, licht zoet. Niet echt bijzonder maar ook niet echt slecht.

Cafe Siesta, Odense. Pours copper amber with a small fading head. Syrup, caramel, grains and a touch of alcohol. Poor all around..

Old rating rerated 13.08.2016, 12 oz bottle @ Salsa:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is sour-ish sweet, butterscotch, minerals, sour grass, caramel malts, paper, weeds, almond essence. Taste is sour-ish sweet, sour caramel, grass, butterscotch, minerals, paper, weeds, cardboard. Little bitterness, harsh mouthfeel. Crap!
