Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

66cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear orange/copper colour, dense yellowish white head. Aroma of perfumy hops, grapefruit, caramel. Flavour is sweet, caramel, toasted malts, light perfume, grapefruit and lemon, good citrussy hoppy bitter finish. Medium to fullbodied, slick, fat and oily mouthfeel. Lovely stuff.

Bottle. Fluid was amber with a very large and thick foam. An inviting and fresh aroma of hops, citrus, grass and fruits. The taste was quite bitter, grapefruit, toffee, grass and fruit. Dry and easy to drink. Good beer, but maybe not that exciting in the long run. Not a complex beer but refreshing.

Bottle: Pours amber with a large sandy head. Tons of sticky lacing. Thick aroma of citrus and grapefruit with light fruity sweetness. Really a delicious smell. Taste isn’t nearly as hoppy... comes out with light citrus, florals, and a bready maltiness. Cuts into the hop profile quite a bit. High hopes at first sniff, but ends up coming in right around average.

Gift from Greg, thought this would be like sierra nevada’s harvest, but really nice use of the "wet" hops. kind of weak aftertaste, but a really nice APA.

Aroma: The nose offers a nice fresh and juicy citrus hops aroma with some light pine, a bit of caramel
Appearance: Clear golden-orange color with a fluffy white head and a good amount of lace
Flavor: The flavor is much less juicy/fruity then the nose and much more of a dry, hoppy flavor
Palate: This beer has a pretty big body that has a decent duration and drinks pretty nicely
Overall Impression: I found this beer to be quite good. Another nice brew from Great Divide. This brewery makes some pretty good stuff, and this is another top notch offering from them.

Bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Probably as fresh as we can get it in Europe! Pours amber with a tiny head. Butter, spices and oranges in the aroma. Tastes of bitter oranges that developes into a sweet taste. A bit oily mouthfeel, rather complex for an APA.

22 ounce bottle from Grape and Gourmet in Virginia Beach, VA. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is toffee malts with a big hit of citrus hops. Taste is big citrus hops with hints of caramel and other notes. Medium bodied.

Pours a medium copper - impressive, soapy head - potent hops (pine, grass, earth) hit the nose first, but don’t wash out a lovely malt base of caramel and bready character - moderate carbonation, medium body - the flavor is bookended by spicy, peppery hops - sandwiched in between is some moderate biscuity malts, citrus, caramel - fairly well-balanced - a lot like Sierra Nevada Harvest, but not quite as good.
