After brewing and fermentation, CH’TI beers are kept for long weeks in storage tanks. In the calm and cool (0°C) environment, the beer matures, develops a finer taste, perfects its aroma and acquires its natural and characteristic sparkles. It is here also that the beer obtains its balance, finesse and gleam. The Triple is brewed since 1997.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Gyldenbrun. Lettskyet. Høyt tett skum med antydning til kniplingslacing. Aroma av mais med underliggende malt. Alkoholen framstår i form av marsipan. Blir vel søt.

One of the more recent additions to this range, with yellowish white, equal, sticky head and warm orangey blonde colour, clear with fine sparkling in vertical columns. Grainy aroma, toast, bitter orange, cookie dough, gree apple, soap, thyme; neutral onset, minerals, dried fruitiness, smooth and light mouthfeel, light spicy accents, vague caramel maltiness in the background, ending in a long, assertively hoppy finish.

Clear light amber and copper coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, honey, grass and a lot of hay noticeable - not too many other belgian tripel type smells, but that perhaps is because this is from france. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong malty backbone with a lot of rich deep flavours, honey, grass, hay and some relatively strong caster sugar taste as well. Aftertaste shows a strong funky cardboardie malt characteristic, no hops at all, no depth or complexity and just a funky fake sweetness from honey. Overall, not really worth trying, but since it was the first time I ever saw this beer and I was on the other side of the world (from both this and my home), I decided to try it, and I’m glad I had it here and didn’t bring it back home from HK or France! I sampled this 33 cL stubby bottle purchased from City’Super! In Harbour City, Kowloon, Hong Kong on 02-July-2014 for HK$25,00 sampled in my hotel room back on Wan Chai, Hong Kong on 02-July-2014.

Bottle. A clear one, with a dense white head of moderate size. Some alcohol in the aroma, with sugary malts and a generic fruityness. Pine cone notes. It’s quite dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Fruits, white sugar notes, a fine bitterness and some spiced, peppery notes in the flavor. Lasting fruity finish with a nice bitterness. A pretty nice one, although not up there with the best. 140510

Clear golden. Large and dense off-white head and lacing. Sightly hoppy aroma of lavendel soap, yeast and spices. Similar taste. Cardboard and almonds in taste and mouthfeel.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Clear deep golden to orange colour. Moderate aroma of spicy Belgian yeast. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is not as sweet as many other tripels, quite dry. Decent hops. Light bodied for its strength.
