Brewery Het Anker decided to brew an easy drinkable city beer for the Mechelenians, still peppy enough in order to enjoy it to the fullest called Maneblusser. It’s a blond beer with an alcohol percentage of 5.8% vol. in which you can taste a subtle citrus aroma and a fine finish. Maneblusser is brewed according to the traditional method of high fermentation.

Odense drinking Belgian Beer in February. near gusher. Hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma of bready malt, with grass and pineapple. Dry, and slightly tart flavour with malt, fruit and yeast, and a touch of grassy hops in the finish. Bottle at Het Anker. Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Yeasty and bready aroma. Sweet, malty flavour with a touch of alcohol

Bottle @ Odense Tasting Feb. 2014. Pours hazy pale yellow with a frothy white head. Sparkling carbonation. Yeast, grain and fruit. Melon and hay.

Jack Rose, DC tap: Pours pale and slightly cloudy with a white head. Aroma is citrus, yeast, pale malt, and a bit of spice. Taste is lightly spicy, very slightly sweet. Mostly very light. Easy to drink and easy to forget.

Sampled draft @ Modeste 2013. Clear golden, white head. Nose is fizzy lemon, lemon drops, spices & lots of white sugar. Taste is heavy on sweet cornflakes, white sugar, corn, BE yeast, lemon candy. Light bodied, so yeah white sugar water with cornflakes, ehh...

Bottle, 33cl. A lightly hazy one, golden in color and with a rocky, white head. Some curtains. Quite Belgian style aroma, fruity, sugary and lightly spiced and yeasty. Full bodied, effervescent and quite dry, even though there’s a flavor of white sugar. A little touch of cooked vegetables. Some bitterness all the way. The flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma, nice but nothing more. Fruity, bitter finish. Far from impressive this one, a pretty ordinary Belgian ale, but it drinks easy and doesn’t taste bad either. 130913

Huge offwhite coarseish head. Yellow body with strong carbonation. Spicy lemony herbal aroma with orangey honeyish notes, incredibly vivid. Dry-sweet spicy floral wooden taste with orangey honey notes. Sharpish mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dryish spicy lemongrass aftertaste with chalky notes. Nice, and great aroma, but the flavour does not really live up to it. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, web order.)

Bottled, thanks Rune! Pale yellow, lively head. Citric nose with coriander and marzipan. Dryish with slender body and crisp, rounded mouthfeel. Nicely drinkable and mild with some spices and spicy hops. Quite bitter finish. Elegant.

0.33l bottle. A light blurry kinda pale golden in the glass with a lovely looking big and really lacing and lingering light fluffy white top. Really sweet and fruity on the nose. Lots of those two actually, white candied sugar, a bit of flour and I have to say that I like this aroma. A bit like a dessert. Yeah, it has some mild alcohol in the taste. A bit metallic, Belgian yeast and more white fruits. Average on the carbonation and oily on the mouthfeel. Much dryer in the taste than the aroma suggested. A fair but nothing to special Belgian one. 28.06.2013
