St. Bernardus Wit is a traditional unfiltered Belgian white beer. It was developed in collaboration with Pierre Celis, the legendary master brewer who founded the Hoegaarden brewery, brewing their signature beer that was the driver of the resurgence of white beer in the 1950s. St. Bernardus Wit looks distinguished and classic with its attractive, golden-yellow colour hidden under a subtle veil – it epitomises the authentic Belgian cloudy white beer.

Almost clear, golden color and a small white head. A little to yeasty, spicy. Nice carbonation.

11.2 oz can, poured cloudy yellow gold with modest white head. Medium bodied. Coriander, pepper and lemon aroma. Taste is pepper, banana and mildly bitter hops. Finish is gently spicy.

Only my second Belgium Witbier. Cloudy yellow gold, small white head, decent retention. I was expecting more foam for a witbier but it's fine. A rather understated aroma of spice, grass, flora, light fruit, citrus. Taste is the same with an emphasis on the citrus in the finish. A nice creaminess to it. A surprising subtlety to this, well balanced. I do find myself preferring the Hoegaarden though.

As wheat beers and St. Bernadus go this is decent but a little underwhelming. Bit of banana, bready, some hops and a dash of cittrus. It's certainly nice but for this combo of brewer and style I had higher expectations.

Halmgul med gyllene inslag och vitt massivt men lågt skum. Gräsig och örtig doft. I smaken återkommer gräset och örterna. En aning av nejlika. Neutral beska utan träiga toner. Ren och uppfriskande. Efter den första klunken vill man sedan ha mer.

The Aromas are spicy, funky, pale malt and Floral. Flavors are similar to nose, sweet tart spicy upfront with good carbonation but some oxidation as well. Decent body but the oxidation goes into the Finish.

Bière 33 cl. Nez sur la confiture d'abricot, miel. En bouche, je retrouve du thé, du miel, des fruits jaunes mûrs. Je n'aime pas trop les bblanches mais celle-ci a quand même le mérite d'avoir du corps.
