Bottled (thanks jbrus!). Deep rubyish amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is ryebread and some mild roasted notes as well as fruits. Flavour is very much the same along with slight alcohol and notes of dry dark druits. Not much of an aftertaste in this one. Quite watery. As it warms up it gets some rather leathery notes.

Bottled. Dark ruby, rich firm head. Aroma of coffee and plums. Medium sweet with medium body, fairly soft with a short but entertaining burst of coffee and prunes. The flavour quickly dies out into cardboard, crystalized sugar and toffee. A few moments of magic is enough to lift it.

Bottled (BB 09/2008)
Dark ruby red color, small firm creamy off-white head. Aroma has dates, molasses, brown sugar, roasted bread and chocolate. Quite light and straightforward taste for being an ale. A bit toasted malty, some sweetness and late bitterness and sticky alcohol. Although this is "an abbey dubbel", it is a bit similar to Finnish Christmas Viennas, just a bit more bitter in the aftertaste.

Bottle, 6.5%. Farty, oxidized, sherry aroma. Not as bad as it sounds, though. Almost clear brown colour, small white head. Thin mouthfeel. Bready flavour, but well accompanied by some sweetness and a little roastedness. Good grainy breadiness. Creamy aftertaste.

(bottle) Cloudy brown colour with reddish shades and a foamy off-white medium head. Slightly sweet malty aroma with caramel, dried plums, raisins and yeasts. Light sweet flavour, medium body. Soft sweet malty start with a distinctive note of dried fruits, mainly raisins, that lingers to the end, slight touch of caramel, lasting fruity and malty dry finish. Lecker !
