Dark bock beer has already been brewed in the Archduke Brewery in Żywiec in 1860. It is made of water, hops and three types of malt: Pilsner, Munich, and caramel malt. It has a dark ruby colour and a mild, rich and luscious flavour.

Wygląd: Piana ciemna, gęsta, drobnopęcherzykowa. Piwo ciemne, nieprzejrzyste z delikatnymi czerwonymi refleksami. Zapach: Palony, palona kawa. Smak: Wytrawny, palony, czarna kawa. Ogólnie: Bardzo dobry porter. Klasyka.

At restaurant in Kudowa-Zdrój, Poland from 500ml bottle. BB 02/2017. Black color, medium big tan head. Smells malty roast, spices, light smoke, light notes of raisins, some leather. Full body, soft carbonation, full mouthfeel. Tastes rather strong of spices, some sweetness, roast, some ash, light coffee, caramel, licorice, molasses, smoke, alcohol . Finishes with spices, some sweetness and licorice. Interesting combination, I quite like it, feels a bit heavy, a tad too sweet, but overall nice. 7, 4, 8, 3, 15

F: brown thin frothy, quick gone and forms thin film. C: dark brown to black, non-transparent. A: caramel and roasted malt, prunes, chocolate and coffee, alcohol. T: roasted malt, coffee, some wooden smoky tones, dark fruit, prunes, very nice sweet/sour bitterness, dry hoppy finish, full body and low carbonation, oily and creamy structure, surprisingly very good Polish porter beer worth to try.

Bottle, 0.50l, courtesy of Marcin, shared with colleagues. Cloudy dark brown color with small creamy light brown head and fair lacing. Aroma of mild roasted malt, caramel and alcohol. Taste starts by light sweet caramel and roasted malt, follows by dark fruits acidity, well hidden alcohol with warming mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Full body, sticky texture and average carbonation in palate. Incredibly drinkable for such a high ABV...

500 ml bottle. Pours a translucent brown color with a large thick creamy tan head. Rich roasted malt aroma has notes of chocolate, raisins and licorice. Rich bittersweet cocoa malty flavor upfront. More licorice and raisins. Creamy mouthfeel enhances the taste. Finish has notes of strong coffee, prunes and resiny hops. A great Baltic Porter. Surprising good and a great value.
