The Troeg’s collaboration beer, releasing in May 2016, will be a Hoppelbock, an 8% ABV hoppy, strong amber lager, brewed with all German hops and a large percentage of locally sourced malt from Deer Creek Malthouse in Pennsylvania. “This is a very cool project!,” says Heavy Seas Brewmaster, Christopher Leonard. “We get to host some of our most respected peers, use some locally sourced ingredients, and make a batch of unique, interesting beer with input from both organizations. Our entire brewing team has been having a blast with it!”

first of all the label says best by October 1216. The Aromas are lots of caramel and some cardboard. Flavors are like nose, sweet up front with a little bitterness in the end with decent carbonation okay body. Forgettable beer.

Bomber from Beer Run, 6/20/16. Clear dark reddish copper, thin foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, earth notes. The taste is toffee, caramel, toasted malts, a bit of spice and dried apricot. Thin bodied.

A tad flat, though not enough to ruin the integrity of the beer.
