Draft @ Fatheads. Deep brown in color with a medium tan head that vanished quickly. Aroma and flavor runs hand and hand. Milk chocolate, ash, weak traces of bitter coffee and an herbal type flavor I can put my finger on. Medium body but leans on the thin side. Mouthfeel was a tad watery. Moderate carbonation. I don’t know about this brew. Something just seemed a bit off, nothing major because I couldn’t pin down what I didn’t like about it. Maybe I need a return trip to Ohio to try it again, LOL.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 Beers this beer poured a black color wtih a large foamy dark tan head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was anise, coffee and a bit roasty - pleasant but rather faint. The flavor was anise, sweetish malts, plum, vanilla, coffee, faint toasty malts and a faint boozy presence underneath. Long finish of anise and plum. Thick and creamy body. Solid.

On tap at Fat Heads. Pours a deep dark brown color with a medium off-white head. A nose of sweet candy and chocolates. The flavor is very sweet malts, nutty, dry cocoa, loads of sweetness in the finish, milky at times. Good.
