Can, actually smells a little tart to me. My can says 51%, & suspect its past the due date, says 1265 on the bottom. A little haze, but not enough to call it a hefe. Visibly sparkling. No real sign of banana in this. I detect the nose is like hay that sat wet for a day. It thinks its trying to be a hefe but never really quite gits-thar. No real sediment on the pour but there was a little on the bottom of the can. At least it doesn’t come across like a crude rude clear wheat ale. Good, mildly cutting co2 on the finish. Not bad in the end, improved as the session continued.

12 ounce can into weizen glass, no can dating. Pours hazy golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, light clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, light clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness, yeast spiciness, and wheat tang on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, banana, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and creamy/grainy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.1%. Overall this a good hefeweizen. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a hazy yellow color with a small white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was citrus, bubblegum, a bit of phenol, lemon and orange. The flavor was bready with phenol, tart orange, cracker and bubblegum. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into a glass. Hazy deep golden with small white head. Aroma is bubblegum, medium/light body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is bubblegum, grainy, and some off favors. Slightly better than home brew.
