Pours black with a small tan head. Smells of dark roast malt, chocolate, and coffee. The flavor is heavy on the roast on chocolatey, a full bodied and well balanced imperial stout. It doesnโ€™t blow me away but this is a very solid stout.

On tap at North High - Columbus, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out plenty of roasted malt and oat-like character upfront, with a substantial amount of woody hops. Flavour is rich, with tons of deep roasted malt, a hearty oat-like character, and a substantial hop character. Rich and rounded without being brutal at all. Doesn't stand out among the world's best RISs, but it's very nice.

OK, a $2 can from vintage, boardman. Surprised I haven't done this bullshit impy stout yet. I don't collude with the Russians, freaken azzhole; such an idiot; Moller, that is. Get with it you AH - far left liberals! Go F yerselves. Well anyway, as expected its a big black brown beer with an aroma of sweet volatile impy stout roasty darkness. Giant strong over the top beer black sweet experience; with a beauty of a head. Yes, big beautiful tan head. Large and in charge; almost a fiver! Taste; can't help but think of a whisky laced dark baking cocoa. What else can't be said? Its a semi-sweet kick in the rototiller ass. Terribly on mouth coating viscous dark beer dizzying style, whew. No bacteria is gonna grow in this one. This Russian stout style is obvious evidence the United States colludes with the rooskies, not just the trumpster train. Go fly a kite and hug a roosk at the same time, its OK; we're a one world community you jerks. Let trumpy talk to the Pwewten,

12 ounce can into snifter, canned on 11/29/2018. Pours lightly cloudy nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, plum, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, plum, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, woody, peppery hop; and roast/charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is a fantastic Russian imperial stout! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Not overly bitter/charred. Amazing rich/well rounded English malt complexity, with balancing earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast complexity. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding/spot on style example.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a large creamy dark tan head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was fruity and piney hops with anise and a bit of roasty malts. The flavor was bitter with piney and cactusy hops, anise, toasty malts and coffee. Long hoppy finish. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Disappointing.

Sample at the tap room. This beer pours black with a medium thick light brown head that recedes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate in the nose. Medium to full body with a roasty character and flavors of coffee, bittersweet chocolate and malt. The finish is malty with a mildly bitter coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.
