Tipopils is an “archetypal” beer: it embodies and corresponds to the idea of light beer settled in our DNA over many centuries. Produced by infusion with Caramunich- and Pilsner-type barley malts, brewed with a popular German bottom-fermenting yeast. German bittering and aromatic hops used both in warm and cold hopping (dry hopping). It is coarsely filtered to remove some of the yeast.

Bottiglia @ Simei 2015, Milano. L’intensità olfattiva è normale e la persistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma a bollicine medie ha una discreta resistenza con finale di merletti. Il liquido è limpido, di colore giallo dorato brillante.

Light straw, slight haze, bubbly white head that dissipated
Aroma of light sweet malts, soft peppery notes, slight citrus, soft lemon
Taste of fresh soft light citrus, slight floral, delicate flavours, soft bit peppery bitterness, well put together, flavour quite unique for a lager
Palate - Medium carb, medium light body, soft bitter citrus, clean, fresh. Finish as main flavour, refreshing, a bit dry, peppery edge.
Overall - One of the very best Pils I’ve tried - but very expensive on tap here.

BOTTLE 75 CL. BB 10-OCT-2015. Hazy pale yellow to greenish, white head. A touch of sulfur stays there for a minute. Classic „german” hop aroma - flowery and lemony to grassy. The taste has those same notes of hops (despite, not very powerful), delicate honey sweetness and a light but clean and crisp bitter finish. The body is on the thinner side. And the light but prickly carbonation gives it a rustic kellerbier-like feel. Really solid, even though the bottle was not fresh at all.

Draught @ Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà. Aroma is rather soapy with citrus and grain . Flavour has apricot, grass, some grainy malt and fruitiness. Also some odd menthol tones. Crisp, grainy and fruity, not your typical pils.

Tap. Friends of Ham, Leeds. Clear gold. Glossy topped, white head. Grainy malts. Lemon. Cut grass. Taste is clean dry. Crisp, sharp, dry palate. Grassy dry finish. Could drink large quantities of this!
