On tap at the Brewpub during ’09 Winter Solstice. Poured a murky yellowish brown with a small tan head. Aroma had a strong caramel note with plenty of spice, some pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavor is over powered by the alcohol towards the finish but there is a bit of caramel and spice at the beginning.

Golden-amber. Flat. No head. The aroma is huge, hot and caramelly but ultimately the heat overwhelms all else. It’s quite sweet, with deep sweet fruity notes. Firm alcoholic finish. Still a bit hot, but it’s smoother than the nose would indicate. All told, though, this isn’t really hitting the mark for me.

hazy amber color. It’s like some kind of Eisbock, with a sweetish strong caramel flavor, quite strong bitterness and warming alcohol. The strange thing is a Parmesan cheese touch in the aroma, and even stronger flavor. Weird.

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy amber color beer with small foamy head with minimal retention and almost no lacing. Aroma consists of deep sweet malt with some dry raisins notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix between some sweet malt with notes of dry figs and raisins. Although taste is very sweet it avoid being cloying. No discernable alcohol even thought ABV is quite significant with a full body with limited filtration and some low carbonation. Very well done and definitely something I would want to try again.

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. Pours hazy orange with a diminished white head. Mild spiced and solid dense malty aroma. Wineous and dark malty initial flavoured. Dense malty and wineous finish. Smooth and dark fruity.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of goryshkewych. Pours a very cloudy amber golden with an off-white head. Distinct aroma of caramel and alcohol. Very full body with notes of burned caramel dominating. Extremely alcoholic finish. Very big and unrefined. 311008
