2007 12 oz. bottle courtesy goryskewych. Thanks George! Strawberry color with almost no head. Rich malty aroma with some fruitiness and brown sugar. Toffee, brown sugar and berry-like fruit notes abound in the taste. Caramel notes show up as the beer warms. Alcohol is noticeable, but blends well.. Very full bodied and sticky. Very nice end to the evening.

Thanks to hailsquishface for the bottle - viscous, headless, hazy amber pour - heavy aroma of spices, cherries, brown sugar, raisin, a surprising amount of floral character - thick mouthfeel, with little to no carbonation - strong sweetness up front, followed by balancing strong spiciness and warming alcohol - a lot of raisin, rum and christmas spice cake kind of flavors going on - a moderate tartness and oxidation manifest late, which serves to balance out the sweetness, but once the sweetness is stripped from the palate, the alcohol becomes much more evident - gets a little medicinal - tasty, but too strong for any hope of balance - they sure do come close, though.

2004 version on draught weighing in at 15.5 percent I believe. Medium amber-auburn color, some rusty hues and a small beige head. As with these very high alcohol, high gravity beers, the body looked slightly wavy, like looking at a bottle of syrup. Aroma smells of dry white grapes, dry pears, sour german yeast. Sour apples, cherries and a touch of alcohol. Flavor starts out with a peppery, lightly biting yeast, with alcohol, raisins and some dark cherry chocolate liqueur flavors. Plenty of sweet malts arise, honey, white bread, more yellow fruits as well. Bold spiciness on the finish helps balance the large sweetness. Ends with a warming and heavily drying effect. Reminiscent of EKU28 and the huge body on it. Very filling beer, well-made and unique. A grand sucess for kuhnhenn to brew such a balanced and flavorful, yet potent beer. But then, you already knew they could do it.
