IPA - Imperial / Double Regular
Score
7.11
ABV: 8.9% IBU: - Ticks: 55
The Techno Double Ipa presents an intense amber colour with a compact white head. The hops used, Simcoe and Chinook, give it pleasant exotic and fruity notes of mango and grapefruit, making it even more inviting.

Despite the high alcohol percentage, this beer is surprisingly drinkable. The looping single malt as its base and the high frequencies of the hop included during the boil, as well as of the dry hopping, deliver an extrasensory rave party.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons, Calais. Hazy brown amber with thin beige head. Sweet piney resiny hops on the aroma. Decent hoppy resiny piney flavour. Some bittterness on the finish, some toffee. Very drinkable.

Draught@Viisi Penniä, Helsinki. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, some herbs, fruits, and a nice tropical fruit concentrate tone to it. Flavour is fruity, floral, rather sweet, but well hopped. Nice bitterness with some sweet malts balancing it up.

Pours dark orange with a tiny head. Aroma of exotic fruits, caramely malts, loads of hops and citrus. Taste is quite hoppy and malty with lots of exotic fruits, sweet caramely bitterness and lemon. Finish is malty and hoppy with some exotic fruits and sweet caramel. Nicely hopped and tasty, but perhaps a tad too malty DIPA. Reminds me of a fresh bottle of Nøgne’s #500.

33cl bought at Brassigaume 2012.
