15 years ago I racked my very first beer into an oak barrel. That same year, Bottleworks opened their doors in Seattle, WA and started selling amazing bottles of beer. It’s purely a coincidence of course, but nonetheless... Where once there were few purveyors of these great beers and fewer still brewers producing oak aged beers, there are many who have joined the party. Yet, Bottleworks remains and institution in this city and we’re proud to call them friends, acquaintances and continued supporters of our craft. In your hands you have 15 years of experience, dedication and commitment to being more than average. We’ve never made a beer aged in Tequila Barrels but we’re sure you’ll find it exceptional for the flavors it holds and the stores it tells. Listen carefully and you can hear the Agave whispering your name as it did ours when we blended this batch from 12 separate oak barrels. Cheers to Vern and the entire Bottleworks crew on the first 15 years. We look forward to 15 more! - Tomme Arthur

Bottle - Lots of raisin, date and prune with some wood notes. Deep dark brown with active carbonation and a light brown head. Woody prune juice. Light tartness and dark sugars, tons of raisin and date and that Tequila oaky harshness. Shouldn’t have opened the bottle alone.

750ml bottle pours a murky, deep amber with some creamy, off white head. Nose has A LOT of tequila, smoke, agave, booze, mild lime spice. Flavor is a little better, malty, caramel, plenty of agave, mild lime, a little honey. Harsh finish.

A lot of chocolate and roast for a Belgian strong. A lot of oak in this as well. Pours brown with OK head and lacing. Light sour finish. Really kind of a mess.

750ml bottle. Poured a muddy brown color without much of a head. Aroma was light boozy rum and tiquila notes. Flavor is light woody booze, some alcohol notes. A touch boozy. Meh.

Bottle as shown thanks to Matt. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is a strong oak and agave. Medium mouthfeel with strong agave and oak with boozy finish. Good.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out loads of tequila, peanut butter, cocoa, and bourbon - wow, that's a unique pungent nose. Flavour reveals way too much tequila, almost nauseatingly so unfortunately, with a little peanut butter and cocoa. The tequila is extremely dominant with secondary notes of peanut butter. Certainly a unique beer, unlike anything I've ever head. I just can't deal with the tequila. Yeuch.

On tap at bottleworks. Dark pour with chocolate. Delicious barrel aged flavor. Doesn’t taste nearly as strong as it is. Very smooth finish. Happy anniversary!
