This special bottling of Innis&Gunn has been matured in rare oak barrels from a famous distillery in Ireland. These barrels had been used to mature one of the great triple distilled Irish whiskeys. The result of this unique maturation is a big, full flavoured, complex beer with a delightful warming finish.

Bottled (thanks omhper!) Quite much rubyish black colour, small head. Aroma is sweet caramel, toffee, liquorice and some slight alcohol. Flavour is quite similar in a quite dry wooden way. Not much of whiskey, but still quite pleasant, though it’s quite sweet.

Deep ruby color, steady brown head. Aroma is caramelly, toffee/fudge, sweet berries. Medium-bodied. There is some whiskey in the background and vanilla. Dominating is caramel and toffee. Light hoppyness in the finish. Interesting, maybe a bit different I&G.

Mörkt mahognyfrägad med ett skum som bildar fina gardiner. Doft av mörkt sött bröd, melass, russin och madeira inkl alkoltoner. Len munkänsla, estrig åt torkad frukt, maltig sötma som känns lite rå och omogen, vaniljfudge, soja, sötlakrits, svagt kaffe och aningens whisky. Kort eftersmak, onödigt söt men helt okej.

Pours deep mahogany into a Sam glass. Soapy tan head with medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Dusty cocoa and oak aromas. Sweet dark caramel and toffee upfront turning to metallic oak in the lasting bitter resin finish.

Aroma of wood, roasted notes, a soapy note and floral hops. The taste is roasted malts, floral hops, caramel, wood, whisky. Medium bodied.

330 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours dark reddish brown with a fizzy and frothy brownish white head that quickly dissipates while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, vanilla, banana, raisins, wood and whisky. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and tiny sour with roasted malts, vanilla, wood, hints of liquorice, raisins and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is slightly watery and medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and bitter with toast, vanilla fudge and resinous wood.

Bottle that my brother got from Systembolaget in Umeå. Sampled on March 1, 2012. BB March 2012Black color, tan head. Ripe banana and alcohol scent. Thin, alcohol, banana, fruit taste, mellow. Medium mouthfeel, mediu low bitterness. Alcohol and fruit aftertaste.
