May 2012: Sample at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Very dark brown colour. Moderate aroma of whisky cask and caramel. Rich and fairly sweet flavour, whisky cask and caramel again, but the hops are far too moderate for my taste..

On my way to Big Hand Bros, I stoped by Yamaya where I saw this in the 2 for 800¥ section. Innis & Gunn Irish Whiskey Cask Scottish Oatmeal Stout 6% I’m not a huge fan of the clear bottle but it poured an inky black with thick dense creamy beige foam. It’s fairly full bodied and smooth with a velvety mouthfeel. The aroma is savory chocolate syrup and oatmeal with mild roasted notes. The taste is the same but you get some bitter dark chocolate, hints of pear and that toasted oatmeal malt. I’m really digging this and find it very smooth. I’d buy it again.
