Number four in our stout series, this beer is brewed with all malted barley and hardwood smoked malt. Aromas of smoked chocolate and coffee leave way to a full-bodied stout with a smokey finish. Fore is a house favorite among our brewers.

Pours deep opaque black with caramel brown foam around the rims. The nose shows a lot of roasted and smoked malts. Some nice hints of bourbon also appear. The palate is surprisingly light bodied and foamy. The palate shows dominant roasted malts with very faint hints of chocolate. The finish shows a long bitter smokiness. The bitterness comes off a little strong and doesn’t really display the coffee/espresso type bitterness.

Pitch black pour, tan head which disappears quickly. Aroma of leather, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, smoke. Taste is milk chocolate and roast malt, plenty of smokiness, smoked meat, smooth oily mouthfeel. Very good.

Bottle. Black, small head. Aroma of vanilla and cacao. Taste of coffee, dark cacao and some nice vanilla. Gritty mouthfeel. Smoke is very faint though, not worthy of the name smoke stout. A good beer nevertheless.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - savoury smoky. Molasses lurking in the background. Taste - molasses and biscuits. Then smoke and liquorice. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy yet dry texture and a long dry finish. Overall - lovely dry stout or porter thing.

35,5cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours black with a brownish head. Roasty aromo with fairly mild smoky notes, coffee and hints of dark chocolate and dark fruits. Sweet and roasty, but well balanced and lots of flavours. Fullbodied with fairly average carbonation. Nice bitterness in the finish. Quite delicious!

330 ml. bottle sampled @ Firestone Walker Tasting. Thank you ElManana! Black, tiny mocha head. Nose is thick mocha, sweet with fair amount of soy sauce, faint smoke. Taste is soy sauce mixed with sweet mocha, malty, faint smoke, brown sugar sweet. Soy sauce, lower carbonation body. Decent but more soy sauce than smoke for me.
