Bucanero Fuerte gets its name from old legends of the pirates that roamed the Caribbean Sea. Considering that Bucanero Fuerte is one of the best hidden treasures of Cuban beer, this connection is fitting. Strong and full-flavored, Bucanero Fuerte is made from the most natural and freshest ingredients, with superior malt and is blended with just a touch of Cuba’s finest sugars. Having more alcohol, a deeper amber color, and a refreshing taste makes Bucanero Fuerte a remarkably 100% original Cuban beer. Over the years Bucanero Fuerte has become a favorite amongst Cubans as a beer to drink with friends while playing domino’s or watching a baseball game. It is quickly proving itself to be a timeless classic. Bucanero brings the mystery and passion of Cuba in a golden beer, with a vigourous and robust flavour. Our ancient and secret production process combines the finest selection of hops, water and malt. Ingredients: water, barley malt, brown sugar, hops.

350ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Golden colour with a small head. Aroma of citrus wheat and hops. The taste is slightly sweet with lemon and lime notes. On the sweet side, faint citrus, slight sugary finish. Crisp, and nice to drink on a spring lunchtime.

350 ml bottle. The beer starts malty-watery. The mainpart is a bit malty-metallic, slightly sweetish and not as easy drinkable as expected. I don’t like this grainy-sweetish taste. The aftertaste is (sadly to say) long, grainy-sweetish-metallic.
Not a very good lager - much too sweetish! --> 6/9/5/6

35 cl bottle, 5.4%. Dark gold color, clear, some particles in suspension, standard white head. Nose is a bit sugary. Aroma is grainy, with straw and cardboard, some sugar. Taste a bit sweetish and dusty. Some strawy hops in the short finish. Carbonated, texture is somewhat oily. Average standard lager, pretty drinkable.

33cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden with a thin head. Nose - very honeyed and cereal. Taste - honey and lemon, pale malt background. Palate - light to medium bodied with a finish that is reasonably clean but not clean enough for the style. Overall - solid but wouldn’t get another.

Clear pale golden. Neutral in taste. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing special either.

Medium offwhite head. Clear coppery body with carbonation and a few little particles. Light sugary aroma with faint fruity oily grassy notes. Sweet, and somewhat dry, papery marzipan taste with grassy herbal oily notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, slightly fizzy, oily mouthfeel. Dryish papery mealy aftertaste with herbal grassy notes. Did I enjoy this? I can’t really say I did, no. (0.33l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

Dieses Bier kommt mir etwas vollmundiger vor als das sehr einfache Cristal. Dennoch ist es recht lasch und könnte mehr Hopfen vertragen.
