Can: Poured a golden yellow color pilsner with a quite large bubbly white head with average retention. Aroma of floral hops is enjoyable. Taste of malt is semi sweet with some subtle floral hops and a slightly bitter finish. This is a well-done and refreshing pilsner but really lacks character to make it truly enjoyable.

Bottle. Pale beer with a light white head. The aroma is yeasty and dry and the flavour is mild, dry and yeasty. Overall a reasonable beer.

Picked up in Morrisons Banbury recently. Pale golden in colour, white foamy head. Yeasty, malty aroma, which then moved to a very crisp and refreshing tasting beer although hardly exciting and a bit safe, which is fine if you want to drink a reasonable beer without having to think much about it.

Oh dear, how to rate this. I used to get this alot, maybe 12 years ago, in cans, and always found it to be a nice solid lager with a firm hoppiness. But, I wasn’t very good at beer tasting back then and I’ve always resisted rating this from memory. So, spying it on the beer store shelf on a recent vacation, I couldn’t help grabbing a single bottle for a rating - also noticing it was a green one. I should’ve known, not just from the green glass, but from passing on all the Schlafly’s next to it that were clearly marked as out of date. Who know’s how long this one had been sitting in the light. Later that night, popping the cap in the hotel, the room immediately filled with a waft of skunk. Still, its not the store’s fault these guys use green glass. I let it sit for a bit and poured. The skunk settled down and I could get some light bready malts and maybe a cobwebby grassy hop. Flavor was clean and light, not watery, with just a touch of bready malt, some spiciness and a medium bitter finish. I still think this could be really nice if fresh and in a can like I used to get it. Nice golden color, if a bit bubbly, but poured a surprisingly creamy white head.

Bottle. Amber hue. Weak aroma, with a okay appearance. Ordinary is about as well as I can sum this one up.

(Canned) Colour is golden yellow, with a big frothy head, disappearing a bit too quick. Nose is malty and fresh, with detectable hints of grassy hops. Taste is malty, bready with a soft, balanced, grassy bitterness in the finish. Fairly dry, smooth and pleasant mouthfeel. Refreshing and well-made, but hardly exciting. A bit middle-of-the-road-ish. As stated, not really exciting, but I could have more than one on a sunny summer afternoon.

Pours bright yellow into a shaker. Significant creamy, microbubble head billows above the glass. Skunky. Thin and almost without flavor -- but also without any bad flavor (and that’s a difference). Medium, dry finish. Would be quite refreshing on a warm day...

bottle - Okay, so there’s nothing original or terribly interesting about this beer. It has a light aroma with a little hops and some graininess. The flavor actually has a decent balance of malts and hops and the palate, while a little too thin, really isn’t bad. This beer is without a doubt a step up from Bud and most other pale lagers, but no more than that.

Canned. Yellow colour, mediumsized white foamy head. Malty and hoppy nose with some sweetish hints. Flavour is sweet malty and alcohol and some hops. Also some hayish dryness in finish and aftertaste. Quite balanced, but a bit too grassy aftertaste.

Can (BB 08/2006)
Pale yellow, decent white head. Nice leafy-hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Good hoppy flavor and decent malt character. Clean and balanced. Short oily finish.
