Pour is a bright yellow with a white head. Aroma is slightly grainy and metallic. Flavor is not bad. Good clean amount of grass hops and roasted malts. Nothing to really go look for but worth a try. I only tried this b/c i needed a 6th to fill out my mix a six pack.

(bottle) Clear and pale golden colour with a big foamy white head, slowly lacing. Malty aroma with some hops in the background. Weak malty watery taste with a somewhat dry but dense hoppy finish. A light bodied, bland and uninteresting Pilsener.

Getting down to the dregs at local beer stores, but this actually isnβt too bad. Clear straw body with a thick, replenishing off-white head. Crisp spicy, peppery hops aroma and flavor with the right touch of bready malts in the body. Crisp and refreshing with no off-flavors. Woah!

A light orange beer with a huge dense white head. The aroma is very hoppy with notes of flowers and oil - like a Czech pils. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, and lots of bitter hops, which gives it a niece bitter finish. A nice pils.

Golden beer. Strong skunk aroma due to green bottle, leading to a grassy chalky nose. Some cardboardy notes in mouth, with a dry german hops finish, nice malts in end. Lighter bodied.

Undated bottle (probably 03). Nice soft rusty yellow color, mostly clear and bubbly with a good-sized white head. Smells of crisp clean hops and lagered yeast. Body is light but not thin or watery. Dry pear flavors, light champagne grapes flavors. Flavor of crisp bitter hops does not let up. Dry, lightly biscuity malt balances it, with an herbal finish that is clean and quick.

First, let's set the record straight once and for all. This beer is not, and never has been, a "dortmunder" by style. It is a pilsner. DAB Export is the regular dortmunder from this brewery and it's damn near impossible to find, even in Dortmund. This pilsner has a pale gold colour and bubbly white head. The aroma is predominantly hoppy (grassy, minty, anise) with a hint of bready malt. Bitter to the tune of about 25-28 IBUs (more than I remembered). Lean, dry body, spritzy carbonation. Hops lead throughout, with malt sticking to balanced background. I've only ever had this in cans before and I remember it being a lot lighter. This is from a bottle and it's obviously very fresh, and it's also quite good - on a par with the finer German pilsners we get in Ontario. Well balanced and stylistically bang-on.

This is a very refreshing beer on a hot summer's day. It's smooth, easy on the taste buds, and leaves very little aftertaste. This is a very drinkable beer, though nothing overly special. It's much better than the "popular" beers that you can get anywhere.
