Collaboration with Trillium Brewing Company
New England and the East Coast, much like our IPA styles, aren’t very far apart; actually they overlap nicely in spots. The art in this collaboration was to dab our love of texture onto Trillium’s lush style; to separate similar notions into small distinct dots, then carefully assemble them creating an exciting, while harmonious, luxuriant piece. We started with the large canvas of cantaloupe and tangelo aromas of a new hop 06297, enhanced that with dashes of herbal spice highlights from Aramis at whirlpool, and toned those shades on the mandarin side with some fruity yeast, but left enough in suspension to shade in a contrasting bit of bitterness. To finish this work, the stoniness of our water soaked steel cut oats and swirled them in the mash, bringing a nutty hint along with some body. Drink 02210 and consider points on points on points unified to enhance vividness like a sunny Sunday afternoon in the park by the water.
