Initially launched under the name ''Greut Lawauitj'' the Witkap-Pater Special was especially brewed for the "European Belleman Championship" held in Ninove in 2004. The Belleman or Town Crier is a person who rings the bell and broadcasts news in the streets.

Bottle: Poured a copper light brown color with a thin creamy head. The aroma is spicy orange peels, slightly hoppy to the nasal cavity. The taste is a sweet spicy malt with a dry caramel candy finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a hazy, orange with an off-white head. Unclean, fruity aroma. Light-bodied, light notes of caramel and fruit with an edge of metal. Fairly dry finish with some bitterness. Not exactly thrilling. 200507

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head, which leaves A LOT of lace. Aroma is very much American hops, thought of an American Pale Ale when I took the nose samlple of this one (yes, I poured my nose too deep...). Flavour is yeast, some hops and slight caramel malts. Very pleasantly balanced, but at the sametime very refreshing.

33 cL bottle, thanks to MiP. Pours clear orange with a dense white head. Light citrus/lemon fruity aroma. Flavour is sweet caramel malty with a nice fruity lemon note. Nice balance. Ends fruity and solid malty. Nice. 7-4-7-4-14=3.6

Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of fruit, medium notes of yeast and lighter notes of spices - especially coriander. The flavor is sweet malty and rather spicy again coriander being strongest, but also with quite strong notes of herbs, leading to a dry finish.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 2 Sep) Colour is amber with firm white head. Nose is fruity with fresh aromas of orange peel, toffee and spicy hops. Taste is malty and fruity with citrus, orange peel and well balanced spicy hops in the dry finish. Fairly short but very fresh.

Bottle
Earthy, berrylike and bready aroma. Grey cloudy amber, ow tanned head. One-dimensional flavor - light fruity yeastyness, yeasty aftertaste, some ryebread edges. Lightish body, could be more chewy, plentifull carbonation.

Hazy nut brown, good creamy head. Dry aroma of wheat and barley - a bit spicey too. Acidic starting mouthfeel then turning sweeter. Licorice, leather, yeast and malt in the flavor. Dry yeasty aftertaste.
