Poured from 500mL bottle. Dark reddish brown (near black) with tan head. Dark fruits predominant in the aroma with some mild sweet roasted malt, a little smokey. Flavour doesnโt show the fruit at all, just some mild smokey roast, but mostly watery. Quite disappointing from the aroma.

500ml bottle at home. Jet black with a thick off-white head. Big roasted malt aromas, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste has more, bitterness more than sweet. Good long finish and pretty full-bodied for the strength.

50cl, thanks to Seanyfo. Dark in the glass with a beige head. The nose is toffee, roasted malt, espresso. The beer itself starts malty, full of roasted aroma. A slight sourness, normally typical for a stout, fits in very well. The main part is great balanced - toffee, espresso, dark roasted flavours harmonise great with the smooth, soft texture of this brew. The aftertaste is long, lots of roasted flavours, only slightly bitter. The subtle sourness abates and leaves large room for the roasted malts to spread.
An absolutely great beer - absolutely flavourful - even more for 4.6%. Fantastic!

50cl bottle my mother in law brought back from the Orkneys. Pours a hazy, deep amber with some thin white head. Nose is sweet, toffee, plum, prune, raisin, booze, treacle. Flavor has some light spice, a little black pepper and a flick of smoke, dominated by sweet prune, plum, orange, raisin. Sticky finish.
