500 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a fine beige head. Lovely aroma of roasted dark malt, mocha, dry fruit and coffee. Flavor is sweet, roasted dark malt, coffee, dry fruit, hint of vanilla and chocolate with balanced bitterness. Fine body and good aftertaste.

Bottle on the train from Edinburgh - 08/12/12. Mahogony brown with a thin tan head that clears to the edge and leaves a film. Nose is toffee, caramel, malts, touch of coffee. Taste comprises toffee, dark sugars, light roast malt. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to some bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Pours dark with a red shimmer, and a big creamy head. Aroma is burned malts, chocolate, kandi and coffee, as well as some hoppy bitterness. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with caramel and toffee, as well as fruity bitterness with raisins and chocolate. Finishes of with a burned bitterness and hints of a hoppy lemon and orange peel.

Ale with stout character, but a much lighter texture which is the giveaway. Black with nice roasted malts in the aroma. Short creamy head and dry tasting without much flavour.

Cask at Market Porter with Sarah. Pours a light brown with a chestnut hue and a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has roast with some chocolate and dark grains. Flavor has more roast with some dark grains and a bit of sweetness. Smooth on the tongue.

Bottle. Redish brown with a large tan head. Aroma is sweet vanilla and candy. Flavour starts off sweet but develops into a long lasting dry roast on the tongue. Texture is velvet and rather smooth
