500ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki, courtesy of Constantin. Black color with beige head. Malty aroma, fruity, pear, smoked notes, licorice, light chocolate. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Black colour, white head. Aroma of caramel, light ash, light smoke, cacao, roasted malts. Flavour of chocolate, ash, light sour hint. Finish ash and toffee.

Botella 50 cl de el c. Inglés Oviedo. Tomado en enero 2002. Lote A hasta noviembre 2001. Cuerpo ligero a medio con 4.6 vol fácil de beber. No estuvo mal.

500ml bottle. Pours deep black with a thin tan head that quickly disipated. Chocolate, coffee and liquorice aroma. Taste is slightly sweet with notes of toffee, liquorice and coffee.

Black colored, bit of ruby hue, moderate tan creamy head. Aroma is malt, chocolate, dark chocolate, licorice, roasted malts. Taste is moderate sweet toffee, chocolate, milk chocolate, bit dark fruit, roasted malt, dry roasted finish. Roasted acidity present. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

On tap at The Old Contemptibles, pours a deep dark brown / near black with a small beige head. Nose brings out bready toffee notes, not much else. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready toffee notes and just enough bitterness to back. Soft on the palate and balanced well. Very easy drinking. Solid.

Bottle from Bernies Off License, Shirley, Solihull. Poured a murky dark brown with a round broken off white head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a big rich malt, burnt treacle bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Flaske delt med Willy på brygga: mørk, nesten svart rubin med beige skum. Kaffeaktig aroma med mørk sjokolade og et snev av torvrøyk. I smaken finner jeg også et syrlig element (rug?). Godt balansert. et øl jeg gjerne kan drikke igjen.
