2009 Bottle. Cloudy chocolate coloured beer. Creamy caramel coloured head. Malt and marmite on the nose. Light soft palate, a little dry. Very moderate carbonation. Smooth malt with a fair dose of yeasty marmite. Subtle chocolate and not so subtle aniseed. Okay but a bit yeasty!

33 cl bottle @ olio, BBE 12/2013
Aroma is very sweet and stale with lots of burned sugar, some dark fruits and raisins. Flavour has stinging alcohol, some solvent and raisins. Alcohol starts to come even more through towards the end of the glass and becomes sinol-like. Way too sweet and alcoholic. Like a doppelbock with vodka.

Pours dark brown with a bubbly white head. Stingy aroma of alcohol, ripe fruits, malts and syrup. Taste is quite sticky and sweet with malty notes, ripe fruits and some syrup. Finish is strong and sticky. Alcohol comes through too much. Unbalanced and too sweet for my taste.

A dark brown beer with a quite weak and blond head. Aroma is strongly malty, toffee, some red berries and hint of overcooked bananas. Taste is malty, some roastiness, caramell, some fruitness, drying and long herbal bitterness. Full bodied, but not sticky, nice to drink. Basic and good beer, nothing special, but otherwise enjoyable.
