Bottle from bierzwerg.de web shop. Hazy brown color with minimal white head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruit, caramel, spices in background. Taste, plums, pear, chocolate, coffee, caramel, light bitterness in background. Fruity finish. Drinkable beer, but little bit sweet to me.

11.2 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark mahogany with tons of sediment and almost no head. Aroma of butterscotch upfront, candied sugar, and buttery malts. Flavour is very sweet, with butterscotch, candied sugar and buttery Belgian malt - the candied sugar lingers without becoming too cloying. Solid winter-style Belgian Strong.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, mahogany colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Moderately roasted malty and slightly sugary sweet aroma with notes of anise, dried figs and caramel. Sweet flavour with a tinge of bitterness, quite full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly roasty and earthy malty taste with notes of dried fruits, shades of cacao and a delicately spicy touch; sweet and mildly roasted finish with fruity and slightly alcoholic accents. Stilewise not my thing but pleasant though. 08.I.12

Bottle: Hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, small off-white foamy layer, sweetish-fruity (dried fruits, as expected) nose , a tinge of wood is also detectable , some hops as well; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; robust sweer fruity and slightly alcoholic finish with a delicate hoppy aftertaste. Not bad, but a bit too much on the sweet side…

2011. Very dark brown, with a thin head. The aroma is figgy, fruity with sweet, sugary malts. Sweet, with mellow chocolate, light figs, dates and a lot of caramel.

Bottle from City Beer. Pours very dark amber with a transient beige/tan head. Aroma of malt and fruits de bois. Near full bodied. Flavor is hoppy - and a little yeasty/bready. It’s not sweet, and it’s not bitter, but it’s fairly hoppy. Fruits de bois covers it for me. Good stuff.
