Bottle at Hops, Crewe. Pours a dark ruby with a thin scummy cream head and decent lacing. The aroma has raisins, caramel and malts. In the mouth it is basically sweet but with the merest trace of sharpness too. It has the usual Belgian hop and yeasty flavouring but also cherries and dark fruits with traces of molasses and alcoholic strength coming later leading to a somewhat fruity finish. This is a decent dubbel, but is a bit thin compared to the best of the style.

Old Review from 11/05/2014. A 330ml bottle from Sainsburys in Pontypridd, Wales. Pours a clear dark amber colour with one finger of off white head. It has a cherry aroma. Taste is mainly dried dark fruits. Light body with low carbonation. Amazing lacing. Smooth finish. A very nice beer.

Bottled. Actulaly not as bad for a semi-mass market belgian. Pours dark and with some sugary molasses tones, moderate head. drinkable.

0.3 liter bottle to glass on the Viking Ingvi longboat. The pour is amber brown copper with a decent sized light tan head. The aroma is plum fruit sweetness, caramel malt, brown sugar, and general Belgian yeast. The taste is big malt sweetness up front, plum caramel and toffee, then moves to the yeast. The palate is medium to heavier bodied, low carbonation and the yeast and slightly boozy finish. Solid Dubbel.
