Sample @ Lambic and Sour Ale Sunday. Golden colour, white foam. Brett character, malty base. Could use a bit more tartness to be in balance.

(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, golden colour with a blond and diminishing frothy head. Slightly mouldy and delicately grainy malty aroma with traces of caramel and a mildly sour-fruity touch of apples, applewine. Moderately sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Cidre-like taste with apple-fruity tartness, accompanied by notes of caramel and malt, as well as traces of brett; sour apple-fruity Cide brut like finish. 04.VIII.15

Bottle, best by 2014, from Tanakaya. Lemony nose, light horse blanket, a bit of yogurt, touch of honey and biscuits. Deep hazy gold with lace. Very effervescent. Tart flavor, grapefruit and lemon, minerals, light horse blanket, and not very acidic. Tart without huge sourness. Great balance. Prickly carbonation. This is a very approachable drink, great for the summer. Lambic is really complemented well by the Bink blond beer. Great.

Sample from bottle at Stadin panimobaari. Thanks to some friendly guys giving me a sample. Poured golden color with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Belgian yeasty notes, sweet fruits, apricots. Flavor has tartness, hops, apricots, very dry finish. Some funk as well. Solid.

750ml bottle. Gusher on opening. Hazy gold colour, white foam head and aroma of citrus rind & funk. Taste is sour, lemon rind, pale malt & grain, fruity, with funky yeasty, white wine notes and light bitterness. Foamy mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry sour finish. Nicely drinkable.

750 ml bottle at Délices & Caprices in Brussels. Practically clear golden body with a small but nice, dense white head. Aroma is pale malt, lemon, funk, wood and some spices. Flavor is sweet and sour with sweet malt, citric fruit, some acidic lemon, wood, hint of vanilla, spicy and grass. Medium body and aftertaste in the same style. A bit unusually Lambic blend, but I find it smooth and tasty. Interesting and nice.

At a tasting, thanks, almost no head, a bit hazy light orange to gold color, aroma of apricot with rubbe behind it, flavor of rubber with apricot behind, also some yougurt mainly in the flavor, medium sourness not too piercing, tingling carbonation. Nice, enjoyable and a bit different.

Poured into a taster showing cloudy yellow with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows a strong bretty forwardness. The palate is well carbonated and foamy. A very balanced malt with a bright moderate tartness and slight sweetness.
