Named after a famous local mountain – Schiehallion (pronounced ‘She-hal-i-on’) presented a huge challenge – creating a Pilsner the Czech would be proud of. Brewed with lager malt and Hersbrücker and Challenger hops. Fermented with a lager yeast.

Litt søtlig duft av humle og malt. Dunkel lys gulbrun farge. Tynt lag skum, ring langs kant. Søtlig smak av humle, malt og noe appelsin.

Cask @ White Hart, Todmorden. Golden with a creamy head. Has a potent sugary nose with a malty character.

Bottle: Poured a copper orange with a fluffy off white head. Aroma was very bubblegum, perfume, and malt. Taste is strong malty backbone with some metallic hops, and grain.

Flaske fra polet, delt med Ovesen på Holmen: kort skum, beskjeden aroma av blomster og litt honning. Det samme i smaken. Her har de vært tilbakeholdne med humlebruken. Craft lager?? Dog bedre enn standard industripils.

Clear golden. Not much head. Subdued aroma of flowers. Flowers continue into taste, with honey and hop bitterness. Best than a eurolager, but not very exciting.

Bottle from Yamaichi. Thought I had rated this long ago. Lemony, floral hops, rather like an English golden, some bready, honey malts. Medium gold with a low, fine head. Lemony, slightly biscuity. Simple and straightforward. Slight lager feel but not much. tingly, peppery hop finish. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

500ml bottle form Tesco. Pours clear gold with a short-lived white head. Aromas of cereal, grains, hay, lemon. Taste has more of the same, light bitterness. Medium bodied, clean finish. Not bad.
