The amber-coloured specialty beer Troubadour Magma has the aromatic and hoppy-bitter character of an American Indian Pale Ale, but is softened by the fruitiness of a Belgian Tripel. Enthusiasts appreciate the explosion of fruity scents from dry hopping.

Pours very cloudy pale amber. Tan head is persistent and thick. Intense aromas of dried apricots, peach, orange, custard, cinnamon, bay leaf, white pepper. Complex and in no way subtle. Powerful, full-bodied, incredibly bitter.

Keg at La Porte Noire, Brussels. It pours hazy golden-amber with a medium white head. The nose is juicy, sweet, boozy, stewed orange, orange muffin, apricot and light sugar. The taste is bitter-sweet, juicy, stewed orange, peach, apricot, mango, orange muffin and big booze hit. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice and juicy, but also pretty boozy. Solid stuff nonetheless.

At a tasting, small stable bubbly head, just a touch hazy deepish orange color, strong bready aroma with some sour fruits and especially lemon, candy, vanila flavor with with some minerals, bread, grains and wood, mellow citrusy bitterness. Good.

Bottle from Hippo Beers. Hazy golden body with lots of yeast flecks floating around. Thin white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of rhubarb, toffee and grass. Flavour of zesty orange, nuts and a finish of spice and yeast. Medium body with an oily texture. Llively fizz. Rough around the edges.
