A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Third at Holyrood 9A. Clear golden pour, skin of head. Hoppy aroma, woody, grassy, pine. Taste is a light blast of hops, a pronounced bitterness, but in moderation. This what the IPA was all about. Beautiful!

33cl can from hopt.it, France. Pours bright gold, transparent, with fine white foam. Aroma is very particular, with quite some herbaceous feeling. Feels almost like contaminated. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is markedly bitter, with a dry final.

22-12-20 // 440ml can from Stumpf. An absolute classic. Clear brighter bolden. Bitter to IPA crossover. Good bitterness. Not much fruity hop aromas as all the modern examples. Straight IPA. GOOD.

Considered one of the first modern British IPAs and it certainly is a very decent beer. Pours a clear pale gold with a slightly off-white frothy head, and a floral and citrus fruit aroma. Pretty full bodied for a pale ale, the alcohol is not prominent but apparent, and the hop character is fabulous, there being a wonderful mix of floral and fruit flavours combining on the tongue, and a subdued bitterness which builds into the finish.

330 ml can. Unclear golden, foamy head. Floral notes, roses, grapefruit peel, pine, elderflower, mango. Hoppy bitterness, some fruity sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft to lively carbonated, hoppy bitter finish. Lovely.
