A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9% Crystal clear with a nice hoppy waft from the can on opening. Fairly light bodied but crisp and fruity. It’s not quite as nice as I recall (I think the last time I had it was fresh on cask in the UK) but still very solid.

330ml can. Pale gold with big frothy head which stays for a while. Aroma of hops, flora, a little citrus, grapefruit. Good carbonation on the palate, medium body which is a surprise considering how pale the beer is. Taste is floral, earthy, hoppy, a little peppery with a dry bitter finish. The can claims it is an American Style IPA but I think it is more bitter than that typical style. It’s very good although I still prefer St Austell's ‘Proper Job’.

Bottle from 100 pív. Nice grassy IPA. Pretty much following English version of the style. Grassy, significant pine line, citrusy. Clean and clear. Well done.

Cask at Five Lamps, Derby Another of my favourite beers that I discover I have yet to rate ! Pours a greenish yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Has a hoppy nose with a general citrus aroma. Some orange, some pine resin. Citrus and hops again in the mouth, with a strong flavouring and “bite”. A dry and hoppy finish to round it off. This is what a “new wave” IPA should be like.

Can. How on Earth is this not rated... Nose. Pine, fresh citrus, fruity, apricot, slightly herbal, straw. Taste is malty, herbal, hints of pine, floral, light spice, touch of grapefruit. It's been a long time since I last had this, and it's very different to my memory.....
