The Lupulus Hibernatus is a dark strong beer. At the end of the boiling, the brewers add a pinch of cinnamon. The mix with torrefied barley brings this beer a powerful character. The After-taste is at the same time bitter-sweet, and finish on coffee aromas.

Bottle (9.5% ABV) from Beers Of Europe. Hazy ruby body with a tiny flecks floating beneath a beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of strawberry syrup, blackcurrant and black pepper. Flavour of burnt sugar, toast and Strepsils. Medium body with a slightly sticky texture. Soft fizz. An unusual beer, difficult to fit into a category, but I enjoyed it.

Corked bottle. Dark brown color. Pear drups, roast and a hint of licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet herbal flavor with anis, licorice and pear drups. Slightly alcoholic.

Flaska från belgiuminabox. Mörkbrun vätska med medelhögt krämigt beige skum. Doft av fudge, torkad frukt och jordgubbar. Potent med värmande alkohol. Kanske lite spritig, kryddig och torkad frukt. Som en stor bruin. Kunde nog lagrats något år. Ok

Thuis uit een flesje, gedeeld met Erik. Donker, bijna zwart, prachtig vol beige schuim. Een heel milde smaak voor zo'n zwaar winterbier, erg lekker wel.

(Bottle, 0.75 l - BBE 10/2018, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20190309) The beer poured nearly black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had caramel, malts and candy sugar. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were candy sugar, toasted malts, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. A pleasant malty brew with sweet notes.
