It proved to be better than I expected it to be. I drink dark beers seldom. If I had a dark mood again, I’d try Diebels repeated. Nice color, palate carbonation, slight roasted aroma. Medium bitter taste.

Can on the 22.40 train from Dusseldorf to Koln (probably from Yormas at the Hbf), 28/04/13. Clear chestnut brown with a big frothy beige head. Nose is dark malt, toffee, grain, brown sugars. Taste comprises dark malt, toffee fudge, bran flakes, brown sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Average alt compared to the ones I’d just sampled in the bars of Dusseldorf, it smacked of mass production, drinkable none the less.

Had this on tap at the Alt Landstuhl restaurant. Towering foamy head covers a nut brown beer. Mild flavor of roasted grains and raisins. Very smooth. Goes great with some German food....

Bottle in Dusseldorf hotel room. Clear brownish orange appearance with an off white head. Toasty, fairly nutty, caramel nose. Grassy, nice nutty, caramel flavor. Pretty decent beer, actually. Better than I expected.
