Alle Braumeister kochen nur mit Wasser – unseres kommt übrigens aus eigenem Brunnen. Und auch die Zutatenliste ist durch Reinheitsgebot und Kölsch Konvention eher kurz: Hopfen und Malz und Basta. Verfeinert mit Hefe. Es ist die Kunst unserer Braumeister, aus wenig viel Geschmack herauszuholen. Nach überlieferter Rezeptur sorgfältig gebraut, ist Gilden Kölsch hopfenbetont am Gaumen, duftet nach feinen Malzaromen und läuft frisch und schlank im Schluck.

(bottle) Clear and pale golden colour with a small bubbling white head, quickly diminishing. Slightly sweet malty nose with a hoppy background. Sharp carbonated, sweetmalty taste with grapefruits, dry and light hoppy finish. A rather malts accentuated Kölsch.

Bottle. Sweet light apple aroma. Bright yellow with disappating head. Initially sweet malt flavor that fades fast - moderate carbonation and high acidity for the style. Not unpleasant but rather bland.

draught Slim white head, clear greenish gold. Malty, velvet, holly leaves nose. Sweet, cornflour taste - mixed malt? First taste is abysmally sweet, but it clears out a bit. But this corn taste - DMS? Light to medium bodied, slickness. So far the worst Kölsch. Why can’t they not do as good as, zum Beispiel Päffgen, in fact? Is it necessary, being a larger brewer?

Gilden Kölsch ist unterdurchschnittlich, der Geruch kündigt einen herben Geschmack an, der sich aber schnell umwandelt in einen süßen Geschmack, der den herben quasi eliminiert. Test vom 12.9.2004, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 6,6,8,7,6,7 - 6,85

Delicious after the overdose of German Weizens. Fresh palate. Easy to drink. Best Kolsch i've had.
