Barley Wine - som navnet antyder er det en drik af næsten vinstyrke, men blot lavet på bygmalt i stedet for druer. Rig og fyldig med karamelnoter som sig hør og bør for typen, men med tilstrækkelig humle til at holde både sødme og alkohol i skak. Udtrykket "Barrel Proof" kendes fra den amerikanske bourbonindustri, hvor det bruges om en whiskey, der tappes på flaske uden nogen form for fortynding. Og således også med vores Barrel Proof, der har tilbragt 5 måneder netop på bourbonfade og derefter tappet på flaske helt uden svinkeærinder. Resultatet er en øl, der i høj grad er til stille nydelse og fordybning. Og hvad derefter sker, kan vi ikke tage ansvaret for - men vi hører meget gerne om det!

Draught at CBC 2014. Hazy copper liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of vanilla, wood, coconut, raw sugar and caramel. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of vanilla and raw sugar. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Pretty good.

Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, Session 1. Pours clear, dark amber with a creamy tan head. The nose is dried fruits and light wood. Sample at CBC 2014. Amber with a small head. Sweet with caramel, oak, fudge and citrus. The carbonation was low and the finish was dry. An ok one.

Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of caramely malts, wood, vinous notes, yeast and tart fruitness. Taste is smooth, sweetish and vinous with wood, oak, toffee, fudge and caramel. Finish is sweet, caramely and sweetish with loads of toffee, fudge and creamy notes. Quite smooth but still quite complex barley wine.
