The chance to brew with long time idol Alan Sprints of Hair of The Dog is something we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Maja is a bourbon barrel aged barleywine brewed with maple syrup, lactose sugar and vanilla beans. Conceptually you could call it a “maple muffin barley wine”.

On tap at Omnipollos Hatt, Stockholm. Hazy amber with a minimal head. Sweet with malt, caramel, oak, vanilla, some fruit and bourbon. The body was full and the finish with warming alcohol. Not a bad one but maybe a bit young?

12 ounce bottle shared with Justin. At the brewery. Pours a clear golden orange hue with a small white head. Certainly carbonated enough. A big sweet nose, toast, vanilla, some oranges and berry. The flavor is certainly sweet, big but not overwhelming vanilla, syrup, some orange blossom flavors, comes together quite nicely. Reminds me a bit of Doggie Claws, but much different of course. Smooth. The label is really awesome.
