330ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty, chocolately, minimally spicy, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, some liquorice, coffee, fruity hoppy whiffs of prune and blueberry. Taste is dry, roasty, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, some coffee, a touch of liquorice, fruity hoppy whiffs of prune and blueberry. Watery texture, dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Not the freshest bottle I have to admit, so I omit the minimally metallic hints of oxidized hops - still a solid Stout.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Pours a dark brown with a medium tanned head. Aromas of fudge, sweet chocolate, lactose, vanilla and slight coffee. It's veryyy cakey. Taste is a bit more roasted coffee, some bittersweet chocolate, toffee, almost like a fudge cake. Easy drinkable, Rich taste.

330ml bottle. Pours an opaque black with amber edges and a small, creamy, short lived, tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Semi-sweet aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel, prune and ash. Semi-sweet flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, oats and a hint of vanilla in a dry, mild bitter, coffee finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Obviously not as good as their Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, but a very good session oatmeal stout.

Bottle at the Roadhouse BBQ, Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown with little life. The aroma is roasty, liqourice, light caramel, hints of fake sugar. The flavour is moderate sweet with a roasty malt liqourice, light coffee, chocolate, light watery metallic palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. Nowhere near as good as I expected. In fact I feel a little cheated.

Bessen, koffie, chocola in balans met een bittere boventoon. Zware smaken dus maar toch blijft het betrekkelijk fris. Backlog from 2014/10/25.

330ml bottle from Brewdog.com. Pours dark with tan head. Some prominent coffee dregs / espresso aroma continuing into the taste with emerging roasted malts. A little thin, perhaps a sessionable ABV doesn’t lend itself well to the beer.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head that settles down just a little too quickly for my liking. The aroma holds some edgy coffee, chocolate, roast. Light sweet flavor with fairly authentic black coffee, some baking cocoa, earthy bitterness, faint burnt brown sugar. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more coffee character, subtle dark and dried berries, more bittersweet chocolate notes, scorched earth, wood. The closest a beer has come to being like straight black coffee, which is some kind of accomplishment. Good work, Lervig.
