Opaque black beer with a thin beige head. Smell of coffee, fruit and hop. Flavour is lighter than I expected. Body is good, but it’s livelier than I anticipated. Vanilla, a bit of fruit and coffee.

330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with moderate head of big bubbles. Aromas of dark molasses, coffee, cola and burnt malts. Flavors of dry nutty dark chocolate, burnt black coffee and ash. Bitter for an oatmeal stout. I’ll stick with the higher ABV Brunch Weasel.

330ml bottle from the Brewdog online shop, shared with jeevan. Aromas of burnt rubber at the start, dissipating to coffee and light sourness. Taste is more coffee and light sour, some vanilla. Roasted bitter finish.

Poured into a teku glass showing just a thin ring of coffee colored foam and practically black and opaque. The nose shows a very smooth coffee aroma and heavy notes of lactose/milk sugar with a slight background of vanilla. The palate is moderately carbonated, light, foamy, and smooth. The first impression shows the coffee-like flavor that is more akin to a latte or heavier milked coffee drink. But the flavor is quite subtle in comparison with the aroma. The lactic sweetness is also very faint and not enough to balance the beer. the flavor also dissipates quite quickly and does not last until then finish. As such, it seems the bitterness comes more from the hops and lacks the espresso bitterness you’d expect from similar stouts.

Opaque black color, medium to full sized light brown head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, huge coffee roast and espresso. Taste malts, again huge almost overpowering coffee roast and espresso, some dark chocolate and bitter. Oh man this is awesome! I wanna drink this at work in the morning! Fucking great!
