A splendid, maroon-coloured beer with fine aromas of spiced fruit, orange peel and well-roasted malt to delight the nose. The flavour is a spicy balance of caramel, citrus and slightly bitter hops to restore that warm feeling during the dark days of winter. If stored in a cool, dark place, IJndejaars will keep for years.

Bottle. Muddy brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly sour and fruity, and the flavour is very malty, fruity and spiced. Overall a very nice quite sweet beer.

bottle, mit großem Dank nach Bochum! Cloudy brown colour with a large and creamy beige head. Malty nose with hints of caramel and raisins. Very full-bodied with an intensive malty background. Chocolate, Caramel and raisins, also prunes, blending in. Very yeasty flavours in the background. A shy fruity touch is also present, as well as a warming touch of alcohol in the lingering and spicy finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with small yeast sediments, thick, creamy and tan head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty and malty. Dark roasted malt flavoured, distinct yeasty fruity note mixed with a dry phenolic note from back of the tongue. Lasting malty impression, more phenolic and dry than sweet malty into the far finish.

Bottled as ljendejaars that I picked up from Bierkoning consumed at Landsmeer campsite, Amsterdam 29-10-09 This exploded out of the bottle, a real gusher thankfully Loz had the common sense to open this outside rather than in the camper otherwise there would’ve been a right mess everywhere. Colour was a very murky amber with a light beige head. Fruity and yeasty aroma, very spicy in the mouth but again fruity. There is a lot of sediment and to be fair this was probably not served at its best though still likeable. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3

2006 bottle. A reddish amber bock with a thick dark off white head. A very pleasant aroma of candy sugar, orange peels, varnish, and light fruity esters. In mouth, veering on Belgian Tripel, with candy sugar, orange and rose water, nice light hopping, smooth and classy. Bottle from Hunsell, Nov. 2006. Danku Jorit!

Bottle at CafΓ© Gollem. IJndejaarsbier is back. Had Turbock a couple of times, and IJndejaars is the same beer, but has been lagered longer. Thus it tastes smoother than Turbock. Muddy brown colour, lots of yeast, creamy beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, malts, dark fruits. Flavour is malty sweet, dark fruits, plums, caramel, slightly sour, spicy yeast, some bitterness underneath. Medium bodied. Overall a good offering.
