This is an awesome collaboration with Mikkeller and Hill Farmstead. It will mess with your mind as an IPA designed to mimic Limoncello. A slightly sour mash, combined with Lactose for sweetness, tonnes of lemon Zest and hopped to death with Sorachi Ace and Citra. Bottle, cask and keg. [Labeled as "Lemon Cello IPA" in the US Market.]

330ml bottle. Slighty cloudy, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, lemon zest, slightly sweaty resinous and woody. Taste is initially citrusy hoppy, lemon, lemon zest, lemon liquor, slightly sugary sweet, just bitterness, no tartness, a slighty grassy touch throughout; citric acid not until the finish, therefor pronounced then.

Bottle. Pours gold with light head. Aromas of lemongrass, sweat, tropical fruit and sharp melons (is there such a thing?) Flavours of green apples, light lemon, light spruce/cedar and very light grain. Unique and interesting. Definitely cuts through residual flavors of other beers at a tasting.

Keg at Kings Arms in Bethnal Green, 1/3 pint. Spotty lacing from a tiny layer. Clear orange coloured body. Fresh semi-tart lemon on the nose. Fresh apricot and lemon to the taste buds. Mild fruity tartness to the ending. Well bodied. Tasty and super refreshing (London 26.09.2014).

Tap at Le Senk.Hazy orange golden color with thick white head. Nice hoppy aroma with tangerines, grapefruit zest, resin. Excellent lemon sour taste together with fruity hops ( tangerines, grapefruit, pines, some tropical fruits). Hoppy bitter, zesty finish complemented with limoncello. Very tasty, unusual combination.

Tap at Le Senk. Aroma is heavy on tangerines, zesty light sourness, overall intense, fruity. Also touch of brett-like bubblegum. Lightly hazy orange colour. Moderately lasting head. Taste is a bomb right from the beginning. Citrusy fruitiness spreads in your mouth, shortly followed by bold sourness, which is artisanaly intertwined with the citrus flavour. Tangerine dominates my perception. Even though I never drank limoncello, I can say that this is a master-class lesson in balancing non-traditional flavours. Enjoyable on all levels, hands down recommended. Lightly sour zesty finish, lingering citrus flavour.
